New here but several seem to be having a problem on where to put Stuarts Presets. Reading online at Photomatix web site I found the following: In Photomatix Pro version 4, the presets are now stored in your Application Data directory instead of the installation directory of Photomatix Pro. So, to transfer your presets from version 3, you will have to move the XMP files in the above folder to the following location depending on your OS: Windows Vista or 7: C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\HDRsoft\PhotomatixPro\Presets Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Application Data\HDRsoft\PhotomatixPro\Presets Where <UserName> is the name of the user under which Photomatix Pro was installed.
While some are using Ver 3 and Some 4 this does tell you where YOUR PRESETS go, not the built in presets. There is one more thing you have to check however. I am using Photomatix Pro 4.1, I could not find Stuarts Presets. But finally figured out the following: Open Photomatix, go to View in the drop down menus at the top then click on Preferences. Under the General Tab look for 'Directory for my presets" (next to last at the bottom) Make sure Default Location is selected, unless you want to put these presets somewhere else then click Custom Location and choose where that is. Hope this helps. Also Thanks Stuart for the presets.
I'm also having issues loading the presets. I put them into C:\Program Files\PhotomatixPro4\BuiltinPresets\ but they didn't show up, even after I restarted it. Do I need to restart my computer? I feel like I'm missing out on a step here.
I'm having a hard time finding the presets. I've moved the file into the presets folder and when I open Photomatix I can't find them. Right now I'm working with the "trial" before I decide if I want to purchase, would this be why I can't find them? Also, on working on a Mac. Any help would be great. Thanks!
Hmm. Very odd. At the bottom of the screen (after you import bracketed pics) there is a bar with the built-in presets showing, and at the extreme right of that bar is an option for "built-in" and "my pre-sets". I click custom and there they are!
Very much appreciate any help / info / directions on how to access Stuart's Photomatix Presets -- I've downloaded the zip file to my desktop but not able to place in my Photomatix file -- using Windows 7, have Photomatix 4. Under Program Files/ PhotomatixPro4 -- only see a "BuiltInPresets" area, no general presets, and i couldn't unzip Stuart's PM Presets there. Should I unzip first and then place in the "BuiltInPresets area?? Would it mess things up? Heard great things about the presets so hope someone can help. Thanks!
